Brown City Elementary Principal’s Message

Brown City Elementary is located in the Thumb of Michigan, in a small rural community. Our elementary building houses preschool through 6th grade.  We are always looking for ways to improve our school by staying current with technology and upgrading our playground equipment.  Currently, we are one-to-one with devices in our elementary school.  Our preschool through 2nd grade have iPads, while our 3rd through 6th grades students have Chromebooks.  Our classrooms are all outfitted with interactive TVs to help support student learning

Brown City Elementary strives to provide a quality education for all students.  Students are given differentiated instruction to meet their individual needs. BCES uses i-Ready and DIBELS assessments to determine appropriate interventions (MTSS).  We have interventionists and reading specialists who assist classroom teachers and target the areas of concern with students.  Additionally, we offer after school programs such as homework help for 4th-6th grade students and after school reading programs for K-3rd grade.

As a staff, we look forward to working with and educating your child through the coming school year.  All staff members are accessible and want to communicate with you to help your child.  As the school year progresses, please make contact with your child’s teacher or myself if a concern arises.  We are here to help.
